To our valued guests,
We hope that this message finds you and your family and friends well. The Refuge Inn has re-opened for business as of Tuesday, May 19th, per the recently relaxed town regulations. Our employees’ and guests’ safety is our priority. To help put your mind at ease, here are some of the precautions we are taking to ensure the safety of both our guests and our staff.
- CDC sanitization protocols
- EPA-approved disinfectants
- Strict laundry processing rules
- Room recovery protocols
- Physical and Social Distancing practices
- Guest and Employee signage
In terms of cleaning and disinfecting, we have taken every possible precaution. Each room was deep-cleaned this spring, and then sanitized. Following sanitization, we treated all surfaces, fabrics, and tangibles with the BioProtect system, which mechanically kills microbes on contact for weeks.
With these precautions, we believe we are offering our guests the most comprehensive safety practices available to the hospitality industry. Each guest who reserves will be e-mailed more details of the changes we’re making to provide a contact-free check-in, breakfast, and housekeeping.
We truly want your stay to be special, so we suggest that you check out the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce’s Health and Safety page, which includes detailed information about the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, Asssateague National Seashore (the beach,) local businesses, and other local guidelines. The Town of Chincoteague has also provided several COVID updates and guidelines, including specific guidelines for hotels, on their dedicated COVID landing page.
This year, we are celebrating 47 years in business. We look forward to
providing the same quality service to our dedicated guests who have brought us this long-term success. Stay safe, stay well, and we’ll be looking forward to seeing all of you in Chincoteague when you are ready to travel again.
