Giveaway & Short Stay Availability for Pony Penning 2019

With that joy in mind, we are doing something special this year that has never been done before at the Inn.

We are giving away a 5-night stay at the Refuge Inn for Pony Penning Week 2019. 

Yes, you read that right. We will, without doubt, sell out of rooms that week, as we do every year. But this year we want to give a special fan and up to 3 of their friends or family (the room has two queen beds) a chance to experience the opportunity of a lifetime and be our guest for this incredible week of events. Check in on Sunday and you can see the Beach Walk, visit with the ponies in the corral, hit up Buckaroo Bingo, watch the Swim and parade to the Carnival, the Auction, and the swim back (you’ll check out on Friday so maybe rinse off in the fitness room before heading home.) You’ll also have the opportunity check out everything else the island has to offer– the Island Creamery, Blueberry Festival, the beach, and maybe even try the “50 Years of Love” scavenger hunt to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the “Virginia is for Lovers” slogan.  All without paying a dime for your accommodations.

The Refuge Inn loves our guests and enjoys developing relationships with them that last years and sometimes even decades or more. This year we have a few 1-4 night stays available during pony swim week due to some folks arriving earlier or later in the week, so if you aren’t able to stay for our typical 5-night pony penning minimum, please call our front desk at 888-868-6300 to see what dates and rooms are available.  Our availability calendar is like a big puzzle, and there might be a spot open that’s just right for your needs. We’d love to welcome new members of our Pony Penning week family.

Also, we’ve had a couple cancellations in the Veranda Suite, which comfortably sleeps six and has a full kitchen. It rents Saturday-Saturday, and is open for Pony Penning week and one week in August.  If you’d like to reserve it, give us a call.

But anyway, back to the point of this post– if you’re ready to take that Pony Penning plunge and experience the full week of the Chincoteague Pony Swim experience, here’s how you can enter.

1. Go to our Facebook page and “like” the page.
2. Find the Facebook post about the contest and tag a friend or family member who would you take with you if you win!  You can also get your friends or family to comment and tag you (so you each get entered into the contest.)
3. You can also get a bonus entry if you “share” the post on your Facebook page, but be sure to set the privacy of the post to “public” so we can see it and give you the extra entry.
4. Winner will be drawn on Facebook Live on Monday morning, July 8th, around 11am.  Be sure to tune in!So if you have the time to come to pony penning this year, we just might have room for you!
